A. Sousa Basto * AP Vieira **
"...We selected thirty children, and 7 healthy and 23 with normal skin and pathological skin...".
Results
"All thirty children completed the study. In no case was this intolerance of any clothing, reflected by the increase in itching or worsening of skin lesions. Two children with atopic dermite generally slightly improved the skin lesions and itching of substantially contributing to a slight lowering of SCORAD. One of these children also suffering from bronchial asthma. "
"...The natural cotton is very well tolerated, are not in the international literature, a reference to cases of intolerance to the fiber. The known cases of dermite contact induced by the use of garments of cotton, are always assigned to products used in the treatment of the fibers during the manufacturing process.
The use of natural tissues not treated fairly decreases the chances of occurrence of reactions to the awareness of clothing.
The products used in the treatment of the fibers are designed to improve their physical qualities as well as its look and tone. Those products include the anti-wrinkle additives and textile dyes.
Though the products incorporated in the manufacture of cotton fabrics are not frequent cause of allergic contact dermite, this possibility exists, especially in individuals with allergic or atopic constitution, so there is the advantage of using the fiber in its natural form, and this not treated with chemicals...
